The IIFA evening was a rocking affair with a couple of some amazing dance performances…and a couple of duds!
If you had stayed at home on Sunday evening, I am sure many of you must have been glued toIIFA awards functions. After weeks of teasing, it finally happened! But here, we will only be discussing the dance performances…And what a melee of performance there were!
Hrithik showing us why he is the King of dance (don’t worry, Tiger Shroff fans..he isn’t far behind!), Shahid Kapoor showing so much energy that we could have produced electricity on stage, Sonakshi Dubsmashing her way through an entertaining performance…the dance performances had some great pluses, as well as some minuses. Let’s looks at each dance performance and see how they fared.
Ranveer – Arjun
The ever-energetic controversial duo started off their hosting duties of the evening with a dance performance on songs from Hello Brother, Main Khiladi Tu anari, even Dola re from Devdas, Karan Arjun, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and finishing it off with Tune maari entriyan from their ownGunday. Their dance performances, like their hosting were funny. The surprise was the entry of Rakhi Sawant as Raakhee from Karan Arjun!
Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti was cuteness personified as she performed on numbers like Drama Queen and Baby Doll! Her expressions were near perfect, but her dance wasn’t something to really rave about!
Sonakshi Sinha
Sonakshi is not called the Dubsmash Queen for nothing! In her tribute to the alpha males of Bollywood, namely Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan, she started off performing on their songs by first doing their Dubsmashes! She performed on Jhumma Chumma De De, Bunty aur Babli, Chikni Kamar, 1 2 3 4 get on the dance floor, Lungi dance, Pandeyji seeti maare, Jhumme ki raat hai!
Shahid Kapoor
Shahid Kapoor made an entrance on the stage driving an ATV through air! Once his feet landed on the stage, he performed on Aao Na and Bismil from Haider. There was only one word to describe his performance – electrifying! But it kind off paled when we came to the last performance in this list!
Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma performed on her own songs from Bombay Velvet and Dil Dhadakne Do! She did swing well, but I had this feeling it wasn’t a full-hearted performance. She looked pretty, but the dance was quite average!
Shraddha Kapoor
Bollywood’s original showman, Subhash Ghai was felicitated at IIFA and Shraddha Kapoor played tribute to him as she performed on a medley on Ghai’s popular numbers from Taal, Kisna, Khalnaayak and Karz. But we found something missing in the performance. Maybe it’s the costume or the unimaginative steps, I am not sure. Maybe we had too much expectations after watching ABCD 2…
Hrithik Roshan
If there was a showstopping performance in the evening, it would have been this! Hrithik Roshan danced in such a way that it is nearly impossible to take your eyes off him. He was just a dream, no other way to describe it. If only Tiger Shroff joined him for a jugalbandi…it would have been a real treat!
Which performance you loved the best?
