Well, all talks about it being hypocritically sexist stands no ground now. The film has been earning money copiously!
Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 is sexist, yes! PKP 2 gives women no redeeming opportunity to change, yes. It’s annoyingly inclined heavily towards men, yes! But the figures at the box office doesn’t care logistics as long as audience savours it. And it seems the sequel got as much love from the audience as the prequel which was nothing less than a revelation. Although the premise has just been tweaked with nothing great to add to the story, the whole prospect of watching a film taking in women guess has appealed to the audience a lot. On its second day at the box office, the film has earned a good 7. 60 cr!
Friday saw a massive opening with a huge 6.80 cr coming its way making everyone happy. Saturday saw a good jump to 7.60 cr which took the total to 14.40 crore. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh revealed the figures on Twitter saying,
The trade is also hopeful that the film will earn really good on Sunday as well which will take the opening weekend to a much better outcome. The good reviews and positive word of mouth have helped the film hit the bull’s eye yet again. Though this time even men complained of it being too one-sided, it didn’t stop them from checking the film out. It will have to seen how it fares over the week to adjudge its real position in the box office tally. But it definitely is going in the right direction!!!
