The Jungle Book has done extremely well at India box office and is  the 3rd highest opening for an hollywood movie in India ever after Fast and Furious 7 and Avengers Age of Ultron .

Lack of a decent hindi movie meant that The Jungle Book had a very strong opening in India in hindi belt however Sardar Gabbar Singh the big telugu release meant that the opening in Andhra/ Telangana was effected.
